The Standard Flight is the most direct way to experience a Dubai sunrise from a hot air balloon: a free hotel pickup before dawn, a 45 to 60 minute flight over the desert at roughly 4,000 feet, and a drop-off back at your hotel with a flight certificate in hand.
There’s no camp stop built into this package, which is exactly the point for guests who want the flight itself without a longer morning. You board while it’s still dark, watch the envelope inflate by burner-light, and lift off right as the sky starts to turn — the light changes fast enough that the desert looks different by the minute. Unlimited drinks, coffee and water are on hand throughout, and a ground crew tracks the balloon so they’re waiting when you land.
It suits solo travellers, couples on a tighter schedule, or anyone who’s already planned a full day and just wants the balloon ride ticked off cleanly. If you’d rather turn the morning into a longer outing — breakfast at a Bedouin camp, a short camel ride, a falcon display — the Deluxe Flight builds on this same flight for a modest difference in price. Either way, pickup, the flight, and drop-off all follow the same sunrise-only schedule GCAA-licensed pilots use across every package.
3:45 – 4:30 AM
A driver collects you from your Dubai hotel or residence and transfers you out to the launch site at Margham, on the edge of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
~5:00 AM
You'll watch the crew inflate the envelope by burner-light while the sky is still dark — a good moment for photos before boarding.
Sunrise
Lift-off is timed to first light, so the desert is lit gold within minutes of leaving the ground.
45–60 min
You'll drift roughly 4,000 ft above the dune sea, with hot drinks and water on hand throughout the flight.
Ground crew track the balloon and meet you at landing. You'll receive your flight E-certificate before the drive back.
8:00 – 9:00 AM
You're returned to your hotel — most guests are back in time for a normal breakfast.

Pickup runs between 3:45 AM and 4:30 AM so the balloon can launch right at sunrise. You'll be back at your hotel by around 8–9 AM.
Yes, children aged 5–11 fly at the child rate of AED 999. Anyone under 5 or over 80 isn't permitted to fly, per the safety declaration all passengers sign.
