If Weather Cancels Your Flight
Hot air balloons only fly in calm, predictable conditions — wind, rain, low visibility or sandstorms mean the flight doesn't go ahead, for safety reasons rather than convenience. Here's exactly what happens if that's your morning:
- The decision on whether to fly is made the evening before or very early on the morning of your flight, based on the latest weather assessment.
- If your flight can't go ahead, you're offered the next available morning at no extra cost — most guests are rescheduled within a day or two.
- If rescheduling doesn't work for your travel dates, your ticket stays valid for use within one year, or a refund is arranged.
Booking Cancellations (Non-Weather)
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking for reasons other than weather, cancellation fees apply based on how far in advance you cancel relative to your scheduled departure. You'll be notified by email of the total fee before it's applied.
- 48 hours or more before departure — no cancellation fee.
- 24–48 hours before departure — 50% cancellation fee.
- Less than 24 hours before departure — 100% cancellation fee.
- General cancellation fee — 10% of the booking value, plus any time-based fee above.
- Refunds, where applicable, are completed within a maximum of 30 days from the transaction date, back to the original payment method.
Group Bookings (4 or more guests in a single booking)
- 7 days or more before departure — 50% cancellation fee.
- 5 days or less before departure — 100% cancellation fee.
- Refunds, where applicable, are completed within a maximum of 30 days from the transaction date.
Refund Policy
- Service charges and taxes are non-refundable.
- No refunds are available once a tour has commenced, or for any package elements already used.
- Refunds are issued only through the original payment method.
- Time-bound coupon, event, or attraction tickets are non-refundable in all circumstances once purchased.
Season
Balloon flights operate September through May. Flights pause each summer (June–August) as the heat and thermal air currents make ballooning unsafe — bookings resume once the season starts again in September.
Payments
Secure online advance payment confirms your booking, accepted via Mastercard and Visa with no card processing fee. You'll receive booking confirmation by email within 48 hours, with the charge appearing on your statement as "Hot Air Balloon Dubai."
